A tool for mobiles and tablets that enables solar installation sales representatives to provide personalised quotes instantly.
Challenge
Solar installation companies needed a flexible tool that would allow their sales teams to make offers directly at the end customer's home or location, without having to return to the office to prepare the proposal.
The challenge was to design a simple, fast, and visual product that would make it easy for sales representatives to generate an immediate quote while conveying confidence and professionalism to the end customer.
Approach
From the very beginning, I understood that the tool needed to be designed for the field, not the office. That’s why a tablet and mobile format was essential: the sales representative had to be able to carry the app and use it comfortably in front of the client, in any context. This decision guided the design towards clear screens, simplified flows, and large touch targets to ensure quick and smooth interactions during face-to-face meetings.
I also recognized that the simulator wasn’t just a calculation tool, but a sales support tool. The sales representative would use it as a visual aid during client meetings, so the design had to balance usability with aesthetics. Offers needed to be easily understood at a glance, with simple graphics and a clear hierarchy of information, so clients could quickly see the expected savings and benefits.
Customization was another key aspect. Each company had to be able to adapt the tool to its brand identity (colors, logo, typography) reinforcing the perception that the simulator was a proprietary, exclusive product. This ensured that every client interaction felt coherent and professional while giving the sales team a sense of ownership and confidence in the tool.

The commercial simulator transformed the way sales teams worked. Thanks to the ability to generate quotes instantly, salespeople could have much more fluid conversations with customers: they collected data on the spot, presented different offer scenarios, and closed deals without having to return to the office. This agility not only improved the efficiency of the process, but also increased the confidence of the end customer, who saw how they were receiving a clear and transparent proposal in real time.
The visual aspect became the product’s key differentiator. The offer information was presented in a carefully designed and accessible format: comparative graphs showing the expected savings, clean screens with clear summaries and strategic use of colour to highlight key aspects. This approach allowed sales representatives not only to deliver a quote, but also to explain the proposal in a visual and persuasive way, reinforcing their pitch with tangible support.

Ultimately, the result went far beyond functionality. The design balanced technical needs with visual storytelling, ensuring the product worked not only for sales reps in the field but also for the customers making key decisions.
The development of the sales simulator allowed me to respond to a real need of sales teams: to have an agile, visual and customisable tool that would accompany sales representatives on their visits and reinforce the confidence of the end customer. The balance between ease of use, careful visual design and flexibility in customisation made the simulator much more than just a quote generator: it became a strategic sales ally, capable of improving the efficiency of the process, brand perception and, ultimately, the experience of all users involved.
